Maya

Amidst the jungle, in the flat lands, over the rocks that overlook the sea, cities rose which bear witness to the magnitude of the Mayan culture.

Here the images of man, serpent, feline and bird; the constant use of the four essential symbols, reveal undoubtedly the Olmec heritage. The path followed by such heritage can be followed almost in order: first Xoc, Pijijiapan, Chiapa de Corzo; afterwards Izapa, Uaxactun, Cerros, Tikal, Mirador, mark some of the stops in that route.

Step by step, century by century, Olmec wisdom illuminates the southeastern zone of what is now Mexico.

The Maya are to enrich their expression, complicating it in an almost infinite multiplicity of traits.
